Melissa Smith has been working in the field of behavioral healthcare since 2004. She is currently serving as the Clinical Director of a prominent residential treatment facility that is dually-licensed for mental health and substance use disorders. As Clinical Director, Melissa is responsible for developing and overseeing all aspects of clinical programming, direct client care and family services.
Over the years, Melissa has served various treatment programs in Los Angeles, Malibu, and San Francisco as a Residential Counselor, Case Manager, Primary Therapist, Program Director, and Clinical Director.
In addition to having a passion for building and supporting strong clinical programs to provide the best evidence-based care for clients and families, Melissa also provides extensive support as a facilitator of individual, group and family therapy. She has expertise in the clinical areas of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Melissa obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fairfield University in Connecticut and Master of Social Work (MSW) with a primary focus in mental health and substance use disorders from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
